Azad Hind Fouz Smriti Mahavidyalaya in a Government-Aided college under the pay packet scheme of the West Bengal Government. The teaching staff are selected by the West Bengal College Service Commission which is an autonomous body and the appointments are given by the Governing Body of the college. In West Bengal college teachers are primarily categorized into three designations: Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors.
Assistant Professor:
This is the entry-level academic position for college teachers, requiring a Master's Degree and often a PhD and/or NET/SET qualification. .
Associate Professor:
This is a mid-level position, often requiring a Ph.D. in the relevant field and considerable teaching and/or research experience.
Professor:
This is the highest academic rank in a college, requiring significant teaching, research and administrative experience.
State Aided College Teachers:
This category encompasses Part Time Teachers who are distinct from teachers in substantive positions. In West Bengal, SACTs are teachers who were previously part-time or guest lecturers in government-aided colleges.
